@trman: I found the flag in opera://flags that disables this - this needs to be made into a config option in settings.

The flyout bookmarks section is awful and there is no way to permanently disable the behavior. I want that button to always show the full view. This should be a configurable option. I have nested bookmarks that are MUCH easier to access from the full view than the flyout, and all you've done is make is more difficult for me to get to my bookmarks.
