I had the same problem, and it was very annoying... 😕
Here is what I do to fix that :

Removing Opera in the software manager Showing the hidden folders in the file manager (Ctrl+h). Searching for any folder named "opera" and deleting them. Reinstalling Opera. Connecting to my Opera Sync account to restore my passwords.
