Great suggestion - I have the same freeze in GX.

I support this Pinning hardware acceleration and maybe other toggles like VPN, Battery saver RGX) to Sidebar or Quick Access would be huge for troubleshooting.

workaround I use until they add it
opera://settings /system = bookmark it then right -click bookmark - Add to speed Dial - 1 click access. or create a desktop shortcut: Right-click desktop - New shortcut - paste: "C: \User's%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Program\Opera GX\opera.exe"--disable-gpu-Use this to launch when frozen. You can also toggle quickly via Ctrl+shift+Del-- close the heavy tab first, then disable.
But yeah native Pin/shortcut like you described would be much clearer opera team should add a 'Pinned Settings' section in Quick Settings (top right).
