It is commonplace on Android for apps to take advantage of Chrome Custom Tabs to show Web pages inside the app.
When Google Chrome is set as the default browser, the advantage of the Custom Tab is that the app's web links load faster and share any existing cookies with the main browser. For example, if you click on a link to a website inside the app, and that website has a paywall where you've already paid and logged in, you get to see the full web page content immediately, within the app. The Custom Tab is easy to close and you stay inside the app.
As an Opera for Android user, I have Opera set as my default browser. I want apps that use Custom Tabs to open their Web page links in Opera based Custom Tabs.
Because Opera does not currently support Custom Tabs, and Opera is my default browser, every app that uses Custom Tabs for links is actually using Google Chrome to show Custom Tabs, which is annoying and I have to use the "open in Opera" menu item to reload the page in Opera externally to the app.
There are Chromium based browser apps that support Custom Tabs. When I set either Brave or Vivaldi as my default browser, apps that use Custom Tabs always load web pages in Brave or Vivaldi inside the app.
Please implement this feature to Opera.
