I recently resetted my pc, updating it from Windows 10 to Windows 11. I used Opera when my pc had the Windows 10 OS, and when I used Opera I used a specific video wallpaper that I got from GX mods. However after resetting to Windows 11 and after downloading Opera GX once more, I added this video wallpaper, however It did not work. The video wallpaper was perfect in the preview, however when I eventually added it, it was nothing but a static image. I tried various different things to try to solve this issue.
I tried to clear my history, and clear the cache. It didnt work.
I checked whether I had my wallpapers enabled. They were.
I checked whether my Opera GX was the latest version. It was.
I checked on the Opera addons store instead of Opera GX. The wallpapers in the addons store had the same issue where in the preview it looked fine, but once it was actually added the wallpaper was static.
I checked if hardware acceleration was enabled. It was.
I even did some tinkering with additional Windows OS settings, however nothing seemed to fix the issue. I even uninstalled and resinstalled Opera and nothing changed. It cant be a system based issue because I checked other browsers and video wallpapers worked fine there.
Heck I even followed tutorials on youtube and tried to find forums but they lead me no where as they kept saying the same thing, about cache clearing etc. I did some tinkering with Opera GX's existing settings yet nothing worked there either, if there is an option to enable a "wallpaper animation" I did not find it.
My Windows version = Windows 11 Home
My Opera Vesion = Lvl 6 - 116.0.5366.80 (Thats what it says when I go to Update & Recovery)
Expected Behaviour = When I download a video wallpaper it will constantly loop on the Opera GX home page
Actual Behaviour = When I download a video wallpaper it stays static and doesnt loop at all despite the preview showing that it should
It would be great if anyone could give me some solution to this problem or at least give me a reason as to why this is happening, I spent 2 hours trying to find a solution and found nothing.
