@oldpucker57 If it's free support, you get what you pay for 😞 . I use VMWare Workstation extensively, and their community forums are mostly useless. Not even sure why they have the damn things (community forums).
Anyway, keep this in mind: "For the record, all of my browsers were griping about this error. " When I say all of my browsers it's Opera, Chrome, Firefox and ugh, Edge. Your issue may be subtly different.
