Maybe I didn't run the installer. Not sure what you're talking about. At this point, I don't remember what I did exactly. Do I need to uninstall what I have now for it to work?

Yes. I must have done something wrong because it didn't seem to work. Would I have to uninstall current Opera first? I didn't do that. Have printed some instructions and bookmarked some stuff
which have confused me but haven't tried yet. May not be able to work on this anymore until tomorrow. What I have found out is that I'm not the only person with this problem, but have seen no clear answers. -
RE: Opera does not automatically updateOpera for Linux
I wrote earlier about Opera not updating. My current version is 104.0.4944.54. I don't know where I got 118... from. Sorry.

Opera does not automatically updateOpera for Linux
I'm using Zorin 16.3 (based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS). When the tech upgraded my system, he had to manually install Opera because it did not update to the latest version of Opera. He installed v 118.0.5993.118 and it's been stuck there. When I go to Update & Recovery, Opera checks for updates and says I have the latest version, which I don't. The tech is no longer available so I'm on my own. Please help with the simplest, most thorough information you can provide. I'm a novice.
