RE: My entirety of Opera was wipedOpera GX
I had something similar happen once with Opera GX, it can be super frustrating
. If you were signed into your Opera account before it wiped, a lot of stuff (like bookmarks and passwords) should still be synced to the cloud. Try logging back in and going to opera://settings/syncSetup to check whatâs enabled.
For open tabs, unfortunately those donât always come back unless you had âsync open tabsâ turned on. Sometimes you can still recover them from your history (opera://history).
If sync wasnât turned on at all, then yeah, itâs harder â youâd basically be starting fresh. But if it was, most of your data should come back once you toggle sync back on.
Did you have sync enabled before this happened?

RE: LightPhoto EditingOpera add-ons
Iâve been using LightPhoto Editing for a while now and honestly itâs really useful for quick edits when I donât want to open heavy software. The simplicity is what makes it stand out you can get a clean result in just a few clicks. I agree that mobile apps like Alight Motion or Lightroom are great for more advanced editing, but sometimes itâs nice to have a lightweight tool right in the browser for fast adjustments. It really depends on the project quick touch-ups vs. full creative work.

RE: Deleting browser data when closing.Opera GX
Youâre right, Opera removed the direct âclear on exitâ toggle that used to be in the settings. At the moment, the only way to get a similar effect is to go into Settings > Privacy & Security > Clear browsing data and set it up manually, or use private browsing mode so nothing is stored when you close the browser.
Another workaround is installing an extension that automatically clears cookies/history on exit, since Opera supports Chrome extensions.
Not as convenient as the old built-in option, but thatâs the current situation.
