Still without Snap versions after two months without updates , seeing that the people of Canonical are practically ignoring the Opera developer who seems to be in charge of trying to fix the bugs with the Snap version I hope that Opera does not decide to eliminate the Snap version due to the null support of Canonical.
Today the update icon appeared to let me know that the latest security update is available, and it takes me to the main download page to download the deb version of Linux instead of the Snap that has not been updated for two months, does this mean that Opera lost patience with Canonical and will eliminate the Snap version in the near future?.

RE: Is my Opera Up to date?Opera for Linux
In the Snapcraft forum https://forum.snapcraft.io/t/opera-stops-working-after-upgrade-due-to-gnome-connection-issue/14155/13 the developer of Opera commented another error that appeared after fixing the first one, I guess that's why the Snap version hasn't been updated yet.
The problem with the Deb version is that the video doesn't work, and the necessary to fix it is not definitive and every x time you have to do it again, video is too necessary in a modern browser and you can't afford not to fix it but in the end it gets tiresome to know that you're going to have to do the trick again in the future, that's why it's much more user friendly to use the Snap version because you know you won't have any problems with the videos.
In my case I'm not really upset to wait a little longer to update the Snap version, but I understand that if a couple of stable versions have already been released with some visible changes and the Snap version is still stuck people may start to get impatient. -
RE: Cannot launch Opera after updateOpera for Linux
I don't know if the 59.old folder is the deleted profile but before doing anything maybe it's a good idea to make a backup of that 59.old folder, just in case.
Sorry but I don't know if the lost Opera profile can be recovered, I can only think of trying the option "Update & Recovery" from the Opera menu, click on the Opera icon and in the displayed menu the second last option right next to "Exit".
About the commands "revert" and "refresh" on thursday for a few hours was uploaded in Snapcraft the version "65.0.3467.38" that caused Opera not to start, and hours later then apparently Opera's engineers removed that version and uploaded version "64.0.3417.92" back to Snapcraft, I think doing that caused people's profiles to disappear but I don't know why my profile didn't disappear. -
RE: Cannot launch Opera after updateOpera for Linux
Yesterday the same thing happened to me using Debian 9 with the snap version, I fixed it by going back to the previous version with "snap revert opera" and then updating again with "snap refresh opera", after that Opera opened and worked properly, but later the snap version in snapcraft it was regressed to the version 64.0.3417.92 again and my system changed to that previous version by itself without problems luckily the profile wasn't deleted.

RE: Opera 65 comes with an improved tracker blocker and redesigned address barBlogs
@luislongueira: Forget it, I already fixed it. First you have to go back to the previous version with "snap revert opera" and only then you can update Opera again with "snap refresh opera".

Snap version of Opera 65.0.3467.38 does not start, blog post does not report new version of Snap version but https://snapcraft.io/opera did update to this version, I have to use "snap revert opera" to be able to use the previous version and open Opera.
The operating system is Debian 9, if I try to open Opera via terminal I get this:
"You need to connect this snap to the gnome platform snap.
You can do this with those commands:
snap install gnome-3-28-1804
snap connect opera:gnome-3-28-1804 gnome-3-28-1804"
But "gnome-3-28-1804" is already installed, and the command to connect Opera does not make Opera start with version 65.0.3467.38.
