ok update switching from the tarball installed version to the snap installed version fixes the problem

I use opera installed from opera-stable_112.0.5197.30_amd64.deb and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
this is a strange and niche problem YouTube will say "Your browser can't play this video." and this is opera specific the only correlation I can find is that this effects smaller youtubers more but bigger ones like kurzgesagt or ltt work and unedited blender animations will work i suspect this is a codec problem some of my YouTube videos don't play they are exported from davinci resolve 18 and filmora free.
