Hello!
I've read here that when a sidebar's panel is closed, it acts like an actual tab closure, preventing its content from running in the background.
I reckon this functioning must be important for performance, but I think it may be a great idea to let the user allow some extensions to keep running the panel in background.
My personal use case would be for Sidebar for YouTube extension.
As of now, you must either pin the panel or keep it open in order to keep the video playing.
I would love to be able to keep the video playing in background and to open the panel only when I want to change video, without leaving my current tab.
I think it would also work out well with the Web Panel extension, which would allow us to have any webpage ready to be checked without reloading it.
Please let me know what are your thoughts.
