Had to do a fresh install of Windows after an insane PC Hardware issue that caused a deep corruption in the files. I reinstalled Opera, logged in with my account and assumed everything I saved from bookmarks to extensions would reappear. But they didn't, so I checked the sync settings and saw it was disabled by default, for some reason, and enabled it. Closed, reopened, and still nothing. None of my bookmarks, spaces, extensions, or passwords came back.
I went looking for answers, but the FAQs didn't help. Came to the forums to find out that it seems like the Sync feature just doesn't really work. I can't even chalk this up to me 'accidentally' deleting anything, I didn't mess with anything files or hit any delete buttons. I just tried to sync my account. I also can't blame it on the lack of me not keeping up with syncing my own browsing data. I assumed that was an automatic thing like any other cloud based service. And even when I went through all the settings, I didn't see any "Sync Now" options. So I don't think I overwrote my last account sync, if there ever was one, with this fresh new one. And If I did, how do I roll it back to a previous one?
I also noticed that in Opera's device history it shows my account from two weeks ago from my PC the day of the incident. So it did keep track of my account settings and whatever from back then. So why is nothing showing up now? Why is everything wiped clean as if I never had an account for the last couple years? To be fully transparent, I did refuse to sync my history. I did want the clean slate here. But if I need that for the sync to work as intended, then I'll gladly turn it on and wipe the history manually after.
Any advice or info would be clutch. Thanks
