I have the same issue. github.com and reddit.com are also not working with Opera on GNU/Linux.

Opera can't load certain sites

E.g. github.com, auth.opera.com, reddit.com. It says "This site can’t be reached". All other browsers and Opera on Windows works fine. I use Arch Linux, Opera installed from official repositories (version 40.0.2308.54).
