I have this exact issue, latest version working for me is 117.0.5408.100, currently i have disabled updates and just waiting for this to be fixed, yet this is well over month already and still no fix. It does not matter whether there are opened loads of tabs or not, tried to install fresh latest version on my wife's laptop. And since i went to enable tab scrolling it immediately crashed as well.
