I'd really like to appreciate someone commenting on it. I've done all reasonable things, cleared all data, logged out of the account.
Still with next installation and a new log-in, not only most preferences are still there. Also all former devices I have deleted on other devices are still hosted on my phone and are synchronized. That's weird, isn't it?
It's only happening on my Pixel, actually, not on my Samsung tablet.

A clean deinstall?Opera for Android
How can I deinstall Opera completely from my Android device in the case I would like to do so?
Last time I tried it, I did the following:-
long-clicking on the Opera icon. Opening the (i) and deleting the cache and all data from the device.
-
deinstalling the app
But when I installed Opera again, it was still the same as before the installation. I was only logged out my Opera account. But everything else was still there. So I ask myself: Why hasn't all this stuff been deleted?
To your information: I'm on a Pixel 9.

And still no Opera 121 and let alone Chromium 138 or 139 rsp.?

RE: Opera 120.0.5543.161 Stable updateBlogs
We're on Opera 120 (Chromium 135!!!!!, Chrome already is 139, even Vivaldi 138) for nearly eight weeks already). That's a total joke securitywise. Come to terms with updates, please! Even 121 is still on Chromium 137, while official Chromium is approaching 140 in a handful of weeks.
I'm very disappointed, actually. -
RE: Concern About Manifest V3 Migration With Pending UpdatesOpera add-ons
@leocg As I said before: Their Chromium is much more recent and you can add custom sites to the sidebar. And their privacy is superior, as they don't collect any data. But in the end, that's not so much, as there are also some shortcomings. But these three things come to my mind.

@DerSchlingel To do what?
Don't worry. I'll stay with Opera. I was only thinking. At least they are on more recent versions of Chromium, though. And they're modifying the UI heavily as well. It's also the browser that comes nearest to Opera in looks and features (and this is for a reason).

@DerSchlingel Vivaldi is 100x times worse, their sync is just a joke.
They had a weeks long outage of their servers in Decembre. That damaged their reputation of course. But the major drawback for me is the mail and calendar module. It reminds me of some by gone times, really. And their mobile versions especially on iOS is laggy and even buggy.

@pilis00 I was thinking about switching back to Vivaldi.

I just think that damages their credibility. They must have known that their ressources as @sgunhouse clearly stated are too limited to develop an independent fork of Chromium. So why this statement anyway? Even if they only say "we plan" they shouldn't have said the following, that users should be confident to use their non-graded add ons.
Not, that I'm much concerned about. I wasn't using Opera because of UBO. So yet, isn't it all about marketing, right? But they can't even cope with following Chromium releases. As of today we're still von Opera 120 with Chromium 135, while Chromium itself already is on 139.
They've gone into so many ways with GX, Air and now Neon, that I don't think they're prioritizing flagship One any longer.

@sgunhouse But why did they pledge to do so?
- Opera add-ons

Wouldn't it be great to have Opera 121 stable after so many weeks? 120 stable appeared on July 2nd.

RE: Webplayer issueGeneral
As of today, it strangely doesn't happen again. So I don't know what caused it some days ago.

RE: Webplayer issueGeneral
@leocg said in Webplayer issue:
@DerSchlingel Opera One, Opera GX or Opera Air?
It's Opera One. And it works in the sidebar as well in the normal page in a tab.
The issue is kind of different: There's this floating webplayer that you can position anywhere over the window screen or fix it at the address bar, which is an Opera unique feature.
Whenever I'm using it (red arrow), I can't click on the Spotify (or Deezer) icon in the sidebar (green arrow), because the floating webplayer stops playing.
Expected behavior would be: Sidebar opens the regular webplayer. So this is a real issue.
As no other browser has this kind of webplayer there' no need to compare. -
Webplayer issueGeneral
There's an issue with the webplayer. I believe, it's occuring again though it had been fixed in the meantime.
Whenever I open the floating webplayer or fix it in the addressbar, I can't click the icon in the sidebar, as it stops playing totally. I think, it's behaving as clicking "refresh", so the webplayer is stopping while in the sidebar it seems to load the site again.
I tried it with Spotify and Deezer and both were alike. So not a problem of one particular service.
I remember having the same issue some versions ago, but that it was fixed shortly after I mentioned it here.

RE: Is Opera being better than Brave?Lounge
I‘d assume, that in an Opera forum most people would judge that Opera is the better choice. I wouldn‘t use it, if I were not convinced it was.
But Brave had a lot of running for it and even more so Vivaldi has. For my personal use case I give Opera the pole position, Vivaldi the follow up and Brave as coming in as third. With either of them you are very likely on solid ground. -
Ecosia and Qwant for standard on desktopSuggestions and feature requests
I subscribe to all those posts that wish Ecosia and Qwant were added to the custom search engines and could be chosen as standard in Opera on desktop (as is possible for both on Android and for Qwant on iOS).
I deeply support the vision of both to create a European alternative search index independent from Google, Microsoft and Brave. And I think, Opera as self-acclaimed European browser should be in the same boat. -
RE: Opera Listens: Introducing New Community-Inspired Themes to Opera OneBlogs
@andrew84 That’s what they do over at Vivaldi. They give a bunch of customization options for designs and themes as well. Heck, they also have a community based catalogue (themes.vivaldi.net).
I don’t think you can create such a black colour with the classic theme actually. It’s always a very dark flavour of some other colour.
I feel myself more and more drawn to a more simplistic UI. So I‘m trying out Brave for now. -
RE: Opera Listens: Introducing New Community-Inspired Themes to Opera OneBlogs
I'm glad they've introduced this rather calm and flat dark theme. All the others seem so flashy too me and I ask myself: Does really anyone use one of those animated themes with all this noise that they're producing?
I mean they're not looking that bad, but I feel they're slowing down my laptop and all these sounds in the background or when typing are no music to my ears. But maybe I'm just too old for this kind of stuff.
