Hi guys
I work in IT for a long time but never came across this issue
I have Win-11 Pro for Workstation and latest opera browser was installed just a couple of days back.
Opera was working perfectly fine - no prob
Ran CCleaner to clear some registry entries and then somehow after couple of days later, I tried running Opera but it did not run, no error messsage was given.
Tried running couple of times - it did not run, just nothing happens, no prompt nothing, it just dies.
I checked every settings (Privacy & Security, Windows Security, Exploit, Blocking etc) in Windows-11 to see if anything is blocked by the OS but none of the process/files or nothing for Opera was blocked
(as per Control panel - programs & features)
Opera version installed was - 113.0.5230.142
Checked Services - Nothing with name "Opera" related in Services section
Checked the location of file via shortcut created (which used run earlier) - C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera
No folders with name Opera in "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)"
Could not find any Uninstaller for Opera - anywhere
Seeing such, I thought probably CCleaner has messed up the Opera, so let me install Opera again and it should correct the problem as new installation should at least detect the issue and fix it.
So tried installing via Web, but it did not work.
Web process (which is a small file downloaded from Opera website) asked if I would rather try installing from an offline file, so downloaded "Opera_114.0.5282.21_Setup_x64.exe"
But clicking on it, nothing happens and it just dies, it does not give any information like why its not run or no prompt or anything, it just dies.
Checking google and this Revo Uninstaller mentioned at many places, I downloaded that as well to see if that helps in resolving the issue.
Runing Revo, it finds in Control panel (Programs & Features) and says, after Opera uninstalls (process finishes) then do the bla bla ***
But even Revo does not Uninstall Opera (as that uninstall process never initiated) but then Revo shows all the registry entries, and asking it to be deleted.
I did not go for deleting any registry entry at this point, thinking it might make things worse if there is any other solution to revive Opera
So how do I begin with this to put a functional Opera back on my system.
