I received a message on my gmail account telling me my account had been logged into on a new device using Opera Mini, and the location was Nairobi, Kenya (I am based in the UK). After a panic in which I changed my password, I realised I had logged into my account on opera mini at around the time and maybe the location was a result of the compression service opera mini provides. I tried logging in again and the log updated with another entry from Nairobi so I'm pretty sure it is me, though the device listed is wrong (it says samsung galaxy ace, which I used to use but now I use a newer samsung phone so it may not have realised the difference). But I want to be absolutely certain as otherwise I will have to change all the login details for services associated with that account.
Should opera mini be providing Kenya as my location? I thought the servers would be Norway based but Kenya would make sence since Opera Mini is popular in developing countries. Another thought is if some malware has hijacked Opera Mini and is rerouting traffic via a dummy server in Kenya.
I did a search and found another user with a similar problem, but no definite answer as to whether there are servers in Kenya.
