That is because opera loads sidebarcontent completely different and the extension is very generalized to run on all browsers. This could be easily fixed by opera in using the same loading for the sidebar.

But I'll be honest: Even if I wanted to add that as a featuer I would not be able to. The verification process of opera is extremely anti developer. A very important update to the extension is still not approved or even looked at since Jun 8, 2025 11:41:53 PM

Since there is no real support or anything, I can't do stuff. If they update OperaGX in any way that makes this extension break I will also not be able to fix this.

If you want the updated version, you can snack it from the Chrome Webstore. They verified my extension in under 4 minutes.

does anyone else have the problem that their browser extension gets ignored by opera? I am now waiting for 3 months for opera to publish my important update that fixes a lot of problems and bugs for my extension. I know that I am not a big publisher and not on top of the list but I really think that 3 months is way too long for this process.

The new update has been greenlit on Firefox and Chrome in less than 24h. In fact on Firefox it was just below one hour and Chrome around 6 hours.
It's really devastating as a small dev for publish things when you get completely ignored on all channels.

@Darshsxx can you maybe specify your problems please?
Did you use the preset domains or did you specify your own ones?

Also this extension does not download anything, which is what throws me off. All my extension does is to copy either a link to the post rewritten to e.g. fixvx.com instead of x.com or a direct link to the embedded video (if there is one) as vxtwitter.com instead of x.com

With the Video-Directlink button you can also just download the video if you open a new tab/window and CTRL+V into the URL Bar, this opens the video in your browser and you can use the burger menu (3 dots) or rightclick on the video to download it this way.

If all you need is to download images and videos:
You can already download images without any addon by rightclicking the image (preferably open it before by clicking it as twitter sometimes only preloads a smaller version first) and clicking "Save image as...".
No addon needed!

If you see any bugs or direct problems, please try to explain what you do.

Also: Please note that if your browser suspends a page or you open the browser after starting your computer and it would load x.com directly up, you will need to refresh the page once, as the extensions are getting loaded after. This is a browser behaviour.
