Hey so what's the point of having multiple music tracks for background music? I can't get the other songs to play without going into the files and editing the JSON.

See the Background Music section at https://github.com/opera-gaming/gxmods/blob/main/documentation/mods.md and follow the "virtual remixing" link there. The tracks are supposed to each be a layer that mix together based on your activity. They're not meant to play one after the other. If you want that, just have one background music file that has multiple songs (one after the other) in it. You can use Audacity (and the encoder you want for the type of music audio file you want to produce) for that.
