I've recently noticed that when I use the address bar to navigate, some of the "suggestions" are ads that try to direct me to websites I've never visited and never intend to visit. There doesn't seem to be any way to remove these suggestions from the settings -- I've read a bunch of posts about this from this and other forums, but they're mostly from a few years ago and the available settings have changed so the suggested fixes don't apply any more (the setting they say to change doesn't exist). I don't want to disable suggestions entirely, because I find that to be a fast and convenient way to get to my most commonly used sites; I just want it to stop showing (especially as the first option) ads.
Here's an example of what I'm talking about. When I went to play Wordle this morning, its top suggestion was "worldoftanks . com", a website that I've never visited and never will. There's also no "X" to remove it from the suggestions the way there is for the Wordle URL:
For Wordle, I can remove it from the suggestions:
I had another one recently (I don't remember what got me there) that wanted me to go to booking . com.
This is incredibly obnoxious, and I haven't found any solutions from hunting through forum posts or Opera's settings. Am I missing something?
