Your default browser not working is not an Opera problem. Maybe you could back-up your phone and do a factory reset and see if that cures your default browsers problem.
Opera Mini is only offered for download via the mobile device it is intended to be installed and used on, so the correct version for that device can be offered and so should work for that device as intended. This is to limit the possibility of an incorrect version being downloaded and installed on an incompatible device.
