@filbo Thanks, I did notice that you can avoid or rather hide the problem with apt. The thing is the missing dependencies weren't critical in Opera 123. It still started at least. But Opera 124+ doesn't. If this is intentional (might be, only the Opera developer can answer that), then Opera shouldn't even install with the unmet dependencies. So there is a bug either way.

@Opera-QA-Team Here are simple steps to reproduce the issue:
1 Get opera-stable_123.0.5669.47_amd64.deb and opera-stable_125.0.5729.21_amd64.deb
2 Open Terminal and install 123

RE: Opera 125.0.5729.21 Stable updateBlogs
Thanks for the Linux fixes, but a local deb installation still crashes at startup. This was introduced in Opera 124 and does not happen in Opera 123.

RE: Opera 125 StableBlogs
Another stable update and apparently most (if not all) of the bugs newly introduced in 124 have not been fixed. Then I'm greeted by the message that most of my extensions have been disabled. Disappointing.

RE: Opera 124.0.5705.65 Stable updateBlogs
The Linux version of opera-stable 124 is indeed really buggy compared to 123. I hope this gets addressed with high priority.

RE: Opera 124.0.5705.65 Stable updateBlogs
Thanks for the quick Linux fix for the broken installation, but there is still a regression from Opera 123 on Ubuntu with the deb installation concerning the dock integration. Highly annoying, so please fix.

RE: Opera 124.0.5705.42 Stable updateBlogs
Linux release is now available but fails to properly install. Please fix this immediately. I may remind you that this is calld stable, not beta or developer.

RE: Opera 124.0.5705.42 Stable updateBlogs
Why is the Linux release after 2 days still unavailable from the repository? This really should be automatically pushed on release.
