@ezenofx I think I might have a similar problem. When websites stop loading, is the page white and the tab named “Untitled” and when you hover your mouse over the tab, it says “Crashed?”

@burnout426 Funny thing, I thought to do that a few minutes ago. I renamed the roaming Opera Stable but when I opened Opera, all of my old information and such was gone.

I didn't like that, so I unrenamed "Opera Stable Old" but it asked if I wanted to combine it with the new 1. Initially I said yes but when it asked to do it for a sub folder I said no. I deleted the new Opera Stable and renamed the old Opera Stable. I opened Opera to find my bookmarks and such back. As a test, I deleted some old bookmarks, added a new 1, and edited another 1. When I reopened Opera to my surprise all the bookmark changes stuck! I don't know what I did right but I think it's fixed [knock on wood]. Thank you for the advice!

@burnout426 Actually, after I responded to you, I reinstalled AVG Antivirus and as soon as that happened, the problem of bookmarks not saving or changing started back up. The 2 AVG files that LockHunter said were blocking modifications reappeared after I reinstalled AVG. I did that trick I mentioned earlier but with the Default sub-folder of roaming Opera Stable this time and that started things back up.

I'll probably wait a week until reinstalling AVG to see if the problem's gone away. I'm at a loss, for AVG hasn't given me this problem before. Did I do something in AVG to cause this? I hope it isn't a permanent bug, since my family bought it and it's useful in protecting our computers.

After last week's update for both Opera and Windows, my browser started crashing with increasing frequency. It isn't every time but whenever I'm quickly clicking to ex out a tab, Opera crashes and then restarts. It saves my tabs and where I left off, the most being having to retrace where I left off watching a non-youtube video.

I don't know why that's the case. I use the same extensions with no issue, I use the same amount of browsers. I cleared my cache, I turned off my extensions but the probllem remains. It's frustrating. If anyone else has this struggle or has a solution, let me know. Thanks.

@ArnyDeWatcher I waited a few days to be sure but I fixed the issue. It turns out I had my Opera processes off in AVG by accident. That mortifying since I made that mistake before which I panickedly posted last time.

This is the third time I dealt with this problem and I wonder if the first time it was also because of AVG. Ah well. If anyone else ran into this problem, hopefully you can consult this thread about it.

After the 124.0.5705.15 update yesterday morning, in the following evening I noticed I couldn’t load new sites. If the tab was on the Speed Dial, if you try to go somewhere else it would go blank for a second before returning to the Speed Dial. Or the website would come up blank with tab titled “Untitled” and if you hover your mouse over the tab, something will come up that says crashed.

This usually starts within 5 or so minutes. I can exit the browser and then reopen it to get rid of this effect briefly but soon the blanking will return. I notice if it starts if I’m in the middle of watching something it’ll keep playing just fine and I could even play youtube playlists without issue. I notice that when this issue comes up, the “are you sure you want to exit” little window I turned on doesn’t appear.

This has happened to me before. The only way I was able to deal with it was to uninstall Opera, run SFC Scan Now, restart my laptop, and reinstall Opera. I don’t like dealing with that hassle of having to put images back into my bookmarks. Here’s an alert for anyone else that might deal with this problem in the future and hopefully if there are alternate ways to get rid of it.

@leocg I think I found the issue for me. I put Opera to sleep in AVG to save space even though Opera still works mostly fine after (I don’t know how this works lol).

I put it to sleep again last night thinking it was maybe the Opera Assistant I then disabled. This morning got the blank issue again after going to another tab. I undid the sleep option for Opera on AVG and with just a refresh, I can go to any website just fine. Idk how a update lead to this but I thought to clarify the situation with everyone here.

@leocg Opera Stable 119.0.5497.40. I put the Opera Assistant asleep in AVG and that seemed to help in making the browser less laggy but I’m waiting a few days too see if the problem persists. The issue happened a couple times many hours apart yesterday but happened twice roughly 10 minutes apart some hours ago. I have my browser off currently so I can concentrate on a project.
