BTW thanks for the replys & I think Sgun was right about the Trident functionallity inside Opera being a Netscape plugin called Neptune.

RE: where have all the 'my opera' resources gone?Opera for Windows
Well Opera 8.54 still had colours, but dragging it's toolbar ini file & buttons zip file over worked but only partially. There were gaps, I assume the 8.54 button set was lacking in regards buttons for the extra functionallity that came with 9,10 & 11.
Maybe I could install 8.54 & update it or install 11.64 over the top?

RE: where have all the 'my opera' resources gone?Opera for Windows
Well I worked out Opera 8.54 still had colour toolbars. But dragging across the toolbar ini & the button zip files from 8.54 over the one's in my 11.64 install only partially works. Sure my toolbars are magically in colour, but there's empty gaps, I assume where the old files are vacant in regards toolbar buttons for functionality introduced with Opera 9, 10 & 11.
I s'pose maybe I can install 8.54 & update it, or install install 11.64 over the top???

RE: Opera 5.2 for QNXOpera for Linux
Well Blackberry X/10 is QNX underneath, so if there's Opera for it I assume it's a QNX app, that is unless it's using BB X/10's android app layer or runtime via POSIX or Java or however they do it.

Well I wasn't talkn about Opera per say, I meant opera users/enthusiasts with more talent, abilty & patiance than general cluxes like me.

RE: where have all the 'my opera' resources gone?Opera for Windows
You know what would be good is that if all the developers of the customisation resources that were in 'My Opera' got together & created their own combined 'My old Opera' that old Opera installs could be modified to automatically be directed to when someone clicked for new themes, extensions, skins, buttons & toolbars etc.
Hint...............hint..................hint..............hint............
for the more resourcefull out there.

RE: where have all the 'my opera' resources gone?Opera for Windows
Why thankyou sgun.
From memory I think it was the 'w2000' buttonset or toolbar that gave colour buttons (I'm finding monochrome buttoms a bit drab). Then there's the 'Systems' menu for the main menu bar & a really cool 'startup' dialogue box that had heaps of options. I think most everything else I can get from Operawiki.
I understand why Opera had to go to Webkit for IOS, but IMAO they should have waited till the UI could be moved across before moving the desktop across to webkit/blink. People talk about decreasing compatibility as a reason for not staying with 11/12 for the desktop, but there was always the 'open in IE' & 'open in Firefox' options.
BTW I seem to recall a option/plugin/extension for opening a tab window in Opera using IE's Trident engine instead if of Presto, without screwing up the UI, well except getting IE's context menu when right clicking in the webpage itself.
Look maybe there was a valid reason for Opera's actions, but I don't see why having a simple defaulf for the masses has to be mutually exclusive with the virtually infinite customisation that us oldies (including past paid subscribers) are use to.

where have all the 'my opera' resources gone?Opera for Windows
Are there any alternative hosts for all those skins, themes & custom toolbars, etc, that were formally hosted on "My Opera"?.
Just spent 2 years away from the web "at her majesty's pleasure" & I'm really getting peeved with the monochrome buttons, etc on my new download of 11.64 & getting sick of the broken links every time I try to set it up like my old browser.
I don't understand this excuse of ending 'my opera' because of the cost of managing it, they could have frozen it as a archive if that was the case.
It seems the only reason for using Opera now is the data savings from the compression when running Opera mobile. Other than that, as in the desktop version, it's just a chrome skin that's lost virtually all the reasons one chose Opera in the 1srt place - being able to customise virtually everything, integrated mail, chat, bittorrent, unite, etc, etc. & now all the good files have seemingly dissappeared.
