@omggaming that did not happen to work for me, but placing "https://www.youtube.com" in the "VPN bypass rules" field did.

@sir-trollman use hamburger menu in upper right corner for slide-out menu -- this is the only place to find the start page selection; just below the 'show wallpaper' toggle is the 'use bigger tiles' toggle, then deselect.
