Running Opera v82.0.4227.23 (automatically updated to this version on 09/12/2021) on a Windows 7 64-bit pc.

I am unable to set Opera as default browser. A prompt message appears at the top of the screen each time I start Opera asking 'would I like to make Opera your everyday browser?' I click Yes and the message goes away until I restart Opera each time. Been using Opera for over three years and did not have this problem with previous versions.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Opera but no change. Also tried to set it to default in Opera's settings and in Control Panel but Opera is not listed in CP to make it default.

Opera is set to auto update and the desktop shortcut points to launcher.exe
