@ultraj considering it just happened, if 80 is the current stable release, then I was using it. Thanks for the heads up I'm going to revert to 77 right now!

I just got done reading the other thread about Opera running out of memory, and yes it was full of helpful suggestions were the system actually running out of memory. Despite that I never did read an actual solution besides "stop using all your memory, noob!"
I run HWMonitor all the time, and I haven't reset it yet today, but my opera has stopped playing HBO.com twice today saying it was out of memory and HWMonitor shows my peak system memory utilization at 53%. This is probably from my gaming session earlier as I'm streaming a movie again right now and my system memory utilization is at 24% (of 32GB). I don't use extensions. This isn't just a problem grandma with a system running 4 GB of ram is going to have when she has too many tabs open and I think it warrants a closer look.
