I'm glad there are more power users like me out there who use hundreds of tabs as a matter of convenience. Same thing happened to me with the new update. I made my own post about it but it doesn't seem to have been approved yet. Hopefully a fix will come otherwise this change has made Opera nigh-unusable for people like us.

The change to favicons in the latest Opera version has ruined multi-tab browsing.Opera for Windows
I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place, so please move the topic or correct me if I'm in the wrong subforum.
Anyway, Opera just updated to v.80.0.4170.63 a couple of days ago, and as somebody who regularly has hundreds of tabs open, the UI change to make tabs and their favicons overlap each other, instead of shrink and compress as they did prior to this version, has made Opera unusable for me. My tabs are all thin slivers of grey, with vague hints of colour hidden between them, and are too narrow to even easily hover my cursor over and click on the tab I want.
Now before anyone starts saying "why don't you just use FeweR tabs,?", you browse your way and I'll browse mine. There was nothing wrong with the previous UI and no reason to change it, as it benefitted everyone and now it actively hinders people like myself (and I know I'm not the only power-user out there). Opera has in fact made a UI change like this before a few times in the past and each time I complain. A new version eventually comes along that fixes the UI so the tabs compress again instead of overlap, but some genius always messes it up again. So long story short, devs, designers, or whoever, please fix the tab favicons so they compress and retain their full image as in the previous Opera version, instead of overlap as they do now.

RE: Opera just started freezing seconds after startupGeneral
@leocg Just the regular Opera? I didn't think it had a special name, and is just called Opera Browser on the Opera website. I don't use GX or Air

Opera just started freezing seconds after startupGeneral
Like my subject says, my Opera browser has just started freezing seconds after startup. I get to the splash screen and I have literally two or three seconds to click on a tab, the settings button, whatever, before everything completely freezes and it becomes 100% unresponsive. Even right-clicking on the open program icon on my taskbar and selecting "Close window" doesn't do anything, and I have to go into Task Manager and end task just to shut it down.
If I re-open Opera after end tasking it to shut it down, it freezes instantaneously, and the only way to get those two-three seconds of use back is to restart my whole computer.
I even managed to quickly disable my two active extensions after a few restarts to see if they were causing this issue, but that had no effect. No idea why this is happening! Opera was working perfectly fine last night and I don't recall any browser updates or Windows updates before shutting my computer down before going to bed (I'm on the Windows 10 ESU scheme, so I wouldn't expect many updates anyway).
Is this happening to anybody else?

RE: Can't move tabs between workspacesTab Islands, Tabs and Workspaces
@anothernic Came here to say the same thing. For me it's 100% of the time though and I'm completely unable to move tabs between workspaces anymore. I click and click and click on the workspace I want to move a tab to in the right-click menu but nothing happens at all.
Hopefully this is just a recent bug and the devs can fix it soon.

Updated Opera - favicons now hindering my browsing capacityOpera for Windows
Opera automatically updated for me this morning to version 74.0.3911.160, and with this update my favicons have been increased in size so that they bleed into other tabs. I browse with a lot of tabs open at any one time, and prior to this update, though they may have been small, my tabs were all easily distinguishable. Now there's a big rainbow smear across the top of my browser.
Does anyone know if there are any Opera extensions that can alter the size of favicons? Or should I make a post in the feature request sub-forum asking the devs to revert the favicon size back to how it was, or at least to put an option in the settings allowing us to alter their size ourselves? I'm gonna have to switch browsers again otherwise if I can't fix this (and I don't like staying on old versions of browsers before anyone suggests rolling back the update and leaving it at that).
Cheers
