Download Opera browser with:
ADB backup
Do an
adb -d shell pm list packages | grep opera
To find out Opera's package name
Then
adb backup -f opera.ab <packagename>
(com.opera...whatever)
Extract the .ab file with the Java "Android ADB Backup Extractor" abe.jar, mht are somewhere in 'savedpages'
Done.

whenever a page is too large or not mobile friendly, like the desktop version of reddit,
zooming via pinch gesture or vertical scrolling gets unreliable, mostly it just gets stuck!
if v30/31 is installed already, unrooted phones won't you allow to downgrade without adb
you're right on the version - 29 is the last one without ads!

Always remember that downloading softwares from non-official fonts may lead you to be infected with malwares.
use apk-mirror or fdroid, dont't download just from google search results, and verify signature

What I don't get is why people just don't go use another browser if Opera Mini no longer fits their needs. There are lots of options out there like Opera for Android, Firefox, Chrome, etc.
Opera is the only one left with compression and in some countries data plans are metered and/or expensive, like Germany.

User feedback looks to have forced removing them the annoying popup ads when opening a page in 30 and 31. but now you sometimes, randomly get interstitial ads when following a link. no countdown timer, but still annoying and data plan wasting.
Then, these new suggested search terms in the url&search bar.
TF i care about Milly Vanilly or whatever holliwood and sports!
Please, let us turn these off.

on the one hand, you save bandwith with turbo and ad blocking on the site, but then use all those savings to download a half minute long vid for "Wish"
there were times, one could happily survive on a 100meg data plan, but now life with even 500 becomes hard 
Sometimes i get VIDEO interstitial ads, they eat ~5m a pop.
I'm giving up on updates from Opera
