Around 3 or 4 weeks ago i started having to endure ads on youtube before the majority of videos i watch. For many years up til then i never saw ads, why would it of changed?
A little while back i went from seeing no ads to ocassionally having the youtube screen go white, with the 'skip ads' box down at the right hand, bottom corner of the screen, but now it's full on.
I've always had the in-built Opera ad blocker enabled, and the popup blocker enabled.
Has youtube just managed to beat those particular adblockers?
I've tried the youtube adblockers from the Extentions page but none seem to work.

Bookmarks button.Opera for Linux
I've just updated to Mint 18.3 and with it the latest version of Opera.
My previous version had a Bookmarks button on the Bookmarks bar, but while i have the bar showing, there is no button.
I can't recall whether it was it was already on the bar last time or if i had to add it somehow. Yes i have the little heart on the left of the screen that shows my bookmarks when pressed, but having the button was better and required only one click.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks. -

Downloads keep stopping.Opera for Linux
Hi.
For some time now i've been using various software to convert YouTube videos to mp3 files. After the conversion completes i hit 'download' and that starts, but after 10 seconds or so the process stops. The message i get is 'download error.'
I've tried different converters but its always the same, can anyone help please?
Thanks. -
RE: Up/Down Arrows as an Add-On?Opera for Linux
I'm afraid i was being sarcastic.
Yes they were arrows which when pressed took one either straight to the bottom or to the top of the page. -

Up/Down Arrows as an Add-On?Opera for Linux
Since going from a very old version of Opera to the latest the two things i miss the most are: having one up and one down arrow next to the address field, and a button that would take the current page into Firefox.
I got those arrows from Custom Buttons, or Power Buttons,[one of the two, i think] ages ago. However my previous pc died a couple of weeks back and the Buttons went with it.
I've tried looking again but with no joy.
The two little arrows were great as i was always using them. -
Trying to get used to the latest Opera.Opera for Linux
Hi,
I am using the latest version of Opera after using 12.14 for quite a long time. Would be still using that version if my computer hadn't died a week ago.I've downloaded some old versions since getting the new version but even though they have been 12.14, and others around that one, they don't look like old versions, they look like new ones.
So it looks like i now have to get used to the latest one, i have no choice. Well, i could go and start using Firefox or another one i suppose, but i'll give this a chance. This new version has a giant Google search box in the centre of it, it's awful!
Can i get 'Bookmarks' back at the top on the toolbar [along with 'view' etc,] like the old versions, or is it permanently on the side bar?
It's not as convenient is it?Thanks.

The search box on this siteOpera for Linux
I've been trying to use 'search' but each time i do i just end up getting sent to the main menu with all the various forums, are others having the same trouble?
I also go to a Fii0 forum, but when i write a post and hit the submit post button, nothing happens. When i use firefox however, it works. Why?
I am finding more and more site where Opera doesn't seem to 'work.' Some sites such as Pinterest only load around 4 or 5 little pictures on one page. Go there with firefox and suddenly there is a scroll button and heaps of pics and articles.I don't keep up with whats happening with Opera on a weekly, or monthly basis and rarely come here, so i don't know if this type of thing is common or not?
I used to really love using Opera but these days i have little faith in it and it's reliability.Version 12.16
