@stateofreality That's frustrating - sounds like Opera got into a corrupted state somehow. Since you've already tried the usual fixes (reinstall, clear cache, restart), here's what I'd suggest:
Try installing Opera Beta or Opera GX as a temporary alternative - see if those work. If they do, it's definitely an issue with the stable version's data on your device.
If that doesn't work, you might need to use ADB to force-stop and clear all Opera data at a system level, including any hidden cache folders that a regular uninstall misses.
Alternatively, just switch browsers temporarily - Chrome, Firefox, or Brave while Opera sorts itself out.
I work with 514 Digital and we've seen similar issues with apps getting into weird states after trying to load problematic content. Sometimes a factory reset is the nuclear option, but honestly, just using a different browser might be easier at this point.
Have you tried reaching out to Opera's support directly with that video? They might have a specific fix for Android 16 issues since it's relatively new.

If Opera broke after opening a Google News link, it’s usually a corrupted profile or cached file. First, restart Opera and try clearing the cache. If it still crashes, launch it with flags disabled (opera.exe --no-sandbox --disable-extensions) to see if an extension is the cause. If it opens, turn extensions off one by one. If nothing helps, rename your Opera profile folder so Opera creates a fresh one, or reinstall the browser completely. Your bookmarks and passwords will sync back if you were logged in.
