Opera freezes my system on Ubuntu 24.04,4 LTS

Since the most recent update, when I tried to close a browser window on Opera, it froze the entire computer. My mouse could still move, but I could not click anything. Ergo, I have just had to stop using opera. I have been a user since it first came out

Using the snap, flatpak or deb package? Would be interesting to see if it happens with all of them or just a certain one.

Does it happen if you start Opera with the --disable-gpu command-line switch? With --user-data-dir=~/Desktop/operatest?

As a test, any difference if click options on the login screen to log in to your user using X11 instead of Wayland?
