Tabs and GX closing on their own

When I try to open two or three tabs in Opera GX, they do open—and I can access the internet—but after a while, the tabs close automatically; sometimes the application itself shuts down completely, and this has become very frustrating. I know you have a lot on your plate, but this has really started to become incredibly frustrating. I’ve been using it this way since I first downloaded it, but I finally lost my temper today after losing about 2.5 to 3 hours of work because the tab closed automatically. Thank you for your time and attention.

Same thing happen in a test standalone installation

Strange. ctrl + w is the keyboard shortcut that closes a tab. Alt + F4 can close the Opera window. Make sure you're not accidentally triggering those. Also, if possible, test with a different keyboard for a while.

Are you on Windows?

If you have anything enabled at the URL opera://settings/gx_lights, try disabling everything and restarting Opera to see if it helps.

You can try disabling the "hardware media key handling" flag at the URL opera://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling. to see if it helps.

Do you have any extensions installed at the URL opera://extensions?
