      Hello Opera Add-ons team,

I’m contacting you because updates for two of my extensions have been stuck at “Awaiting moderation” for an unusually long time.

The first extension is LeanTabs – Smart Tab & Workspace Manager:

      • Slug: leantabs-smart-tab-workspace-manager
      • ID: pcaeefcdoimnihjkgllacdnjoolmioh
      • Current submitted update: v1.2.1
      • Status message: “LeanTabs - Smart Tab & Workspace Manager v1.2.1 was submitted. Awaiting moderation.”

The second extension is LeanPrompts Studio

      • Slug: leanprompts-studio
      • ID: akecgcjphmjpfclpjnbapnjkclmpjfm
      • Current submitted update: v1.0.3
      • Status message: “LeanPrompts Studio v1.0.3 was submitted. Awaiting moderation.”

Both extensions were originally published successfully, but none of the later updates have ever been reviewed — only the initial submission of each add-on appears to have gone through. I always update the already published add-on in the developer portal, upload the current ZIP file, add the change notes, and submit it normally.

Could someone please check whether these updates are still in the queue, or let me know if any additional action is required on my side? If there is a policy or technical reason why updates are not being reviewed, I’d appreciate knowing so I can fix it.

Thank you very much for your time and help.

      Best regards,
      ivicav

I am very angry with the moderation; they have been checking my 200 lines of code for more than a month. This is completely unacceptable. They do not update the status, do not respond, and generally completely ignore any means of communication. If there is a problem, what is the difficulty in telling what edits are needed. Otherwise, this is simply ignorance and disrespect for the work of developers and users. It makes no sense for me to make an update if the moderation will be subject to verification for years, which is not particularly needed with this approach.

Absolutely, I can relate. You put in the effort, invest time to build a good product that would surely benefit the community – and for what? I actually enjoy using Opera and would love to support it with my tools, which, by the way, are all completely free for everyone and took a lot of time to create, only to have them ignored without a word. That really kills the motivation.

If one at least knew it was just a matter of time, or got informed about whether and what issue exists, that would be manageable. But after months without any reaction at all, it gets tough. A simple status update or a queue indicator would already help enormously here – at least then you'd know where things stand.

At least the community here seems pretty active, which I think is great. Other stores often manage reviews within a few days – it would be great if someone from Opera could chime in here and shed some light on this.

Indeed, there simply isn’t enough queue. I went in, had a look, and found out what progress I had made and how long to wait approximately. And this creates the feeling that either they are not doing anything at all, or that your addition is being passed over. It's not a problem to make free products. But there are even commercial orders that cannot be fulfilled, although I, for my part, have invested maximum effort for fast and high-quality work. And the customer is still dissatisfied in the end, even if he understands the situation
