Hi,
Seems I have an issue with Opera closing on me in Fedora 43 when I try to access the menu via the "O" or right click with my mouse to get the context menu. Doing so will cause a crash of Opera. I reported the issue first in the Fedora forums in case this could be an issue with something on that particular workstation as I didn't have the issue on a laptop where I am running Fedora 43. Someone told me there was a related bug in Chromium 141 which Opera 125 used and I have Opera 126 with Chromium 142 but the issue still happens.
Here is a link to the Fedora discussion : https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/opera-browser-issue/179235
You can also read the details of the issue below :
I have tried to uninstall it completely, cleaning everything in the .config folder and reinstalling but the crash still happens. I’ve looked at the journalctl crash report but I’m not sure what is happening and was hoping someone may have a clue. It has to be something specific to this machine that is causing the issue but from the crash report I can’t see what that could be. I’ll probably have to open an issue with Opera but just in case it probably is something related to Wayland or maybe something in Fedora that is why I’m posting here firs to see if anyone has an idea or had this issue.
Note : The issue happens when I try to access the opera menu via the “O” symbol or if I right click on my mouse to get the context menu.
Note 2 : Just in case it was not clear previously, this happens on one of my Fedora 43 workstation. I have a laptop with Fedora 43 and the issue is not happening there. The hardware is obviously different. The workstation where the issue happens has a 7900 XTX in it where the laptop has a NVIDIA GPU.
Note 3 : I have a dump file ready to submit for you to investigate the issue.
