Pages stay black for 3–4 seconds after search, then suddenly render

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a very strange issue on my laptop, and the same thing happened on my desktop PC in the past. Back then, I fixed it with some kind of certificate / SSL setting inside Opera GX, but I can’t remember what it was.

The issue:

When I search for something in Opera GX (or any other browser — Chrome, Edge, etc.)

The search itself finishes instantly, the loading indicator completes normally

My internet speed is perfectly fine — there is no lag or slow connection at all

But the entire page stays completely black for 3–4 seconds

After that delay, all search results appear suddenly

During the black screen, I can hover with the mouse and see link tooltips, so the page is actually loaded, just not visually rendered

It’s clearly a visual rendering delay, not a loading or network issue

I remember fixing this before via an Opera GX setting related to SSL certificates, but I can’t find the solution anymore.

Has anyone seen this issue before?
Do you know which setting or fix solves this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
