[Linux]Opera doesn't open, and won't uninstall

I am running Ubuntu 25.10, and have been using Opera 124.0.5705.42 (snap) on both my Ubuntu PC and my Android phone since earlier this year. (Opera on my Android is working fine)
A couple of days ago, Opera in Ubuntu suddenly refused to open/run at all. I attempted to uninstall, so as to reinstall - hoping that that would solve the problem. However, Opera would not uninstall - even when the uninstall process was left to run overnight.
I have subsequently tried uninstalling via the Ubuntu App Store GUI and also via the terminal. (sudo snap remove opera).
After working on this, and searching high and low for solutions, the situation remains the same. Opera will not open/run, and I am unable to uninstall it so as to reinstall.
