FIDO2 / Passkey (Phishing-Resistant MFA) Support in Opera & Opera GX

Requesting full support for FIDO2 / WebAuthn / Passkeys in both Opera and Opera GX so they can be used with modern phishing-resistant MFA requirements, especially in enterprise and cloud environments.
Many organisations now enforce phishing-resistant MFA (FIDO2 security keys, Windows Hello/Face ID/Touch ID, passkeys, etc.) via conditional access policies. When Opera/GX can’t handle these flows reliably, the browser is effectively blocked for any work or high-security use, even if users prefer Opera.
Key needs:
Robust WebAuthn / FIDO2 implementation comparable to Chrome/Edge
Support for platform authenticators and external security keys
Full compatibility with passkeys and enterprise conditional access policies
This is a high priority feature: without it, Opera and Opera GX are excluded from many professional environments that require phishing-resistant MFA.
