Now this is getting insane! 😠
For years people are asking to be able to change the language of Opera on Linux, and that is still not fixed today.
Even when I set the "--lang=nl" option it keeps changing back to English after every update!

Do people at Opera do this just to piss off Linux users??
I can't believe that this otherwise good browser is going to disapear from my system just because of this!
Just 5% of the worlds population speaks English natively!
And Opera just keeps shitting on the other 95%

You know, I don't even care anymore if it ever gets fixed or not.
The mentality of the developers is enough to dump Opera!

@Operius73 yeah seems like language support on Linux hasn’t been given the attention it deserves.

As in, the modification to Opera's shortcut gets reset? If so, creating your own shortcuts with a different name might work around that.

The bug on this is still unresolved, but it's still receiving a lot of duplicates.

From my personal investigation, Chrome/Chromium has this same issue on Linux. This leads me to believe that if it's not handled in Chromium (at https://issues.chromium.org/issues/361595189 for example), then Opera is going to have to provide its own solution (by patching in some fix).
