Opera GX refuses to stay open for more than a second after an update

After I updated my laptop Opera GX refuses to stay open for more than a second, I can see a flash of tabs before it goes grey and closes, not even a fresh install can help as I have tried to uninstall it in both the windows storage settings and by removing all trace of it from my files. I have tried running it without extensions by command prompt, I have tried everything I can think of.

Try --no-experiments too and then reset your flags. See https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/opera/safemode/.
removing all trace of it from my files
So, you deleted the "Opera GX Stable" folder in both "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Opera Software" to wipe out all your data and settings to start over fresh in Opera?
Note that in Windows Explorer (File Explorer), under "View -> Show", you'll want to enable "file extensions" and "hidden items" so you can see your AppData folder.
What does a test standalone installation do?
