Hi! I've been having this problem when I try to download anything using Opera GX, It doesn't matter what the file type is, .exe, .png, all of my downloads are stopped with a message saying "Interrupted: Virus scan failed". I've searched through this forum and reddit posts trying many different method to fix this but nothing has worked. I've been an opera user for about 2 years and this problem has never happened before, I am on a new laptop but I'm not sure why this is happening suddenly. I'm running Windows 11 Home and if anyone knows how to fix this it'd be really helpful!! (this is also happening only on opera, Edge is working fine) 281fe61f-a21f-49d7-b161-850a94fabd48-image.png

This can happen if you installed some anti-virus program and then uninstalled it where it didn't uninstall properly and return control back to Windows Defender. If you think that's the case, you can reinstall that anti-virus program and then try uninstalling it again. If that doesn't work, you can look to see if there's a special, standalone uninstaller utility for that program.

This could also happen if you somehow totally disabled Windows Defender so that there's no anti-virus on your system.

Regardless of the situation, https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/opera/known_issues/#wiki_downloads_are_broken_with_.22interrupted.3A_virus_scan_failed.22_message usually works around it for Opera, but skipping the attempt to scan your downloads when they're finished.
