After a recent update a week or two ago, my Opera Dev browser wont stop crashing. It will open, crash, open, crash, open, crash and then stay closed. I can't keep it open long enough to do anything. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that didnt help.

How do I copy stuff like passwords over to stable Opera? I know i need to find the opera folder, but after that i got lost because there was not a profile folder or anything. I plan to just switch over to Stable opera so that this doesn't happen again in the future.

I'm using the latest version of Windows 11, and i assume was the latest version Opera Dev/Stable

In Windows Explorer (File Explorer), with "File extensions" and "hidden items" enabled under view -> show", in both "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software" and "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Opera Software", rename the "Opera Developer" folder to "Opera Developer old".

Then, Opera developer should start fine. When it does, close it.

Then, copy (not move) the "Local State" file in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Developer old" to the new "Opera Developer" folder and choose to overwrite the existing "Local State" file there.

Then, copy (not move) the "Login Data" file in "C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera Software\Opera Developer old\Default" to the "Default" folder in the new "Opera Developer" folder and choose to overwrite the existing one there.

Then, start Opera developer, goto the URL opera://password-manager/passwords and see if your passwords are there. If so, goto the URL opera://password-manager/settings, export your passwords to a CSV file and open the CSV file in a text editor to make sure all your passwords are there.

Then, in Opera Stable, goto the URL opera://password-manager/settings and import that CSV file.

(Now, you could copy the old "Local State" and "Login Data" files to the roaming "Opera Stable" folder directly. However, just in case the format and version of those files (especially the "Login Data" file) is different between Opera Stable and Opera Developer, the export/import way will be safer.)

Now, for bookmarks and history, you can copy the "Bookmarks", "BookmarksExtras" and "History" files from the "Default" folder in the roaming "Opera Developer old" folder to the "Default" folder in the roaming "Opera Stable" folder. Then, when you start Opera Stable, you can goto the URL opera://history and see if your history is there. For bookmarks, you can goto the URL opera://bookmarks and make sure everything is in place. If not, the bookmarks might have gotten treated as imported where they're in the "Bookmarks Bar" folder at opera://bookmarks. If so, go in there and then move them to the proper spots.

For open tabs, you can delete everything in the roaming "Opera Stable\Default\Sessions" folder and copy over all the files from the roaming "Opera Developer old\Default\Sessions" folder to that now-empty Opera Stable "Sessions" folder. But, if the format or version of those files are not compatible with Opera Stable, you won't get your open tabs back. If that's the case, you should close Opera Stable and delete its "Sessions" folder.

Now, ideally, if the reason Opera Developer is crashing doesn't have anything to do with its profile files and its profile files are all good, and they're 100% compatible with Opera Stable, all you have to do is rename both the roaming and local "Opera Developer" folders to "Opera Stable" and then start Opera Stable and you'll have all your stuff. However, I'd do things the more complicated way above to be safe if your data is important.
