test for default favicon

how can I test (with JS) if Opera returned default favicon VS original page favicon (if there is cached one)?
for every URL, Opera returns favicon. It either page fav or this:
ps. comparing canvases is not appropriate

I'll try one more time getting response from devs.
Is there any way to test for existence of page favicon in Opera?
