Can't login using old email address but also can't create a new account

I've been using Vivaldi for several (eight?) years, but was an Opera user before that. How can I regain my old login/username for these forums?

When I enter the email address that I used to use, the forum software seems to not recognize it as an already-used e-mail. However, if I try to re-register it tells me my username (wpcoe) is already in use and created a new one (wpcoe 0). I want to resurrect the wpcoe name. How can I do that?

@wpcoe-0 I don’t know why, but when you create an Opera account it’s possible to use an older deleted user name. But for whatever reason user names are not deleted from the forums.
At Vivaldi it’s even more difficult. You can’t use any deleted user name at all.
