Opera freezes with race condition after update

After I install a new version, when I start Opera, previous session:

1. One tab open, it loads fine, no issue.
2. More than one tab, Opera freezes, only outside frame and panel draw, does not function, even after waiting 15 minutes.

Prevent Lockup: Prior to installing, close all my open tabs, exit opera. Install update. Starting Opera works fine. No lockup.

Frozen Fix: Rename the opera directory ~/.config/opera. Restart opera. Manually recover everything.

Linux 6.12.17. This occurs with any version of Opera (for at least last year or so). I've isolated the crashing and resolution above to save the manual work after update. I thought it may have been just a glitch or one-time, but it can be repeated with each update. (Usually i forget to close tabs before doing update).

Any way to close out tabs from previous session before starting opera? Or can we just delete prior session?
