Mac menu bar item dropdown menus don't appear when clicked

Sometimes, when I try to click the menu items on the Mac menu bar at the top of the screen (file, edit, view, history, etc.) while in Opera fullscreen, their dropdown menus don't display.

It's been happening for the entire year. I've found that this problem mostly appears at random after hours of use, but I've also noticed it happening after a restart, and when I exit fullscreen and then enter again. The only way I can fix it is to force quit the app (cmd+opt+esc).

It's very irritating to find this not working out of nowhere, because I frequently use the history button to quickly reopen my last closed tab and check my recent history without going into the Opera sidebar.

I thought this might be a Mac bug at first, but Opera is the only app this issue ever seems to happen in. I apologise if this is a bug on Apple's end, I don't know enough about where this problem could originate from and I thought I should still post here in case it is Opera.
