Opera not offering to save passwords

Hi, I am new to Opera in general but have been researching about this problem for a couple of days now. I have tried a couple different solutions that have worked for others including creating a new profile, clearing caches, etc. I also have turned the 'save passwords' setting on and off multiple times.
It has happened on multiple sites, none of them give me the option to save new passwords. I did import my passwords from chrome upon first downloading Opera, but I don't see why that would stop it from me getting the prompt to save passwords. I'm assuming it's supposed to be a little pop up window like on Chrome?
I know this question has been posted a million times but I'm really at a loss. It seems to not be related to particular sites. If I can provider any further info please let me know. Thanks guys.
