I consider, the installation by default usually takes place in C:\Program Files

I think, I understood, There're two .exe-files: launcher.exe and opera.exe. I should try to create shortcut just "opera.exe". Maybe, it'll work. I must wait for the nearest update to check.

@flimsyjake opera_gx_splash.exe is only on GX.
Workaround does not work on Opera One aka vanilla aka regular aka Tab Island aka Aria aka AI Opera.

Goto the URL
opera://about
, take note of the "install" path and close Opera. Then, delete the opera_gx_splash.exe file in the latest version folder in the install folder. Repeat this after each update until the issue is fixed. The intro flag at
opera://flags
is for theopera://intro
page and has nothing to do with the splash screen. -

(Show Hidden Files in Windows)
go to
C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Programs\Opera\Version_Number\ (find the last version)
find opera_gx_splash.exe and delete it
Restart PC if it doesn't work immediatlyAnother way is this, but I tried and it didn't work
In the address bar digit
opera://flags
it opens a "secret" setting page;
in the search bar (top right) digit intro; it appears Opera One Introduction
click in the drop down menu ed choose "Disabled".
In the page, bottom right, click on "Relaunch"
Restart PC -

I tried, it doesn't work. - use this to open browser you will have no splash screen in opera folders in local disk sent to desktop as shortcut works for me
It also doesn't work. Only the deletion of the file "splash" helps.

because Opera doesn't seem to want to allow the splash screen to be disabled from the opera web browser, as a compromise, please release a tool that automatically deletes opera_gx_splash.exe.
currently i need to manually delete opera_gx_splash.exe every time opera got updated.
opera_gx_splash.exe not only obnoxiously loud. it also makes Opera web browser loads slower. Because for some unknown reason, Opera developers decided to launch the browser after the opera_gx_splash.exe finished its process. Instead of launching both the splash screen and web browser simultanously.

After every update is acceptable, since I think it reinstalls all the files. But when you use it many times per day is annoying.
I'm not the discoverer of these tricks, I've just found them on the net. The first worked for me; not the second. -

I wrote to Opera support:

Please, write too, anyone, who can. -

Devs, please delete this nonsense ''feature'' already i simply cannot ask to every single user to delete that file, and your average user will simply swap to another browser.
