Can't middle click on tab bar to open a new tab

I am a long time Opera GX user (from the moment it launched) and love the browser. Haven't had any problems with it for the whole time I've been using GX.
Yesterday for cleanup reasons I completly reinstalled Windows 10 on my PC (formating the drives and reinstalling all programs). Today I found that on the reinstalled Opera GX app I no longer can open new tabs by clicking middle mouse button on empty space in tab bar, it worked fine before reinstall and it now works fine on Firefox and vanilla Opera. Only Opera GX and Microsoft Edge are having this problem, the MMB can close tabs on tab bar but can't open new ones clicick on empty space it also opens new tabs by clicking on links. How should I go with fixing it?
I am aware that Ctr+T works the same way, but i mainly use mouse while browsing internet and I am used to this feature.
Additionally, when franticly clicking middle mouse button to close many tabs, sometimes after closing a tab it opens new one (just like Ctr+T works), it doesn't work every time and its hard to replicate.Any suggestions?

Hey, @operagxofficial
After the latest update for operagx, I canโt open new tabs with my middle mouse button anymore! It was a convenient feature which you guys removed. Or is it a bug or glitch somethin? Can someone help we with this. -

I'm also having this issue on Opera GX after updating to version LVL4 (core: 96.0.4693.59). Couldn't find any setting to re-enable this function.

Normally the middle click mouse button would open links in new tab and close/open empty tabs. Right now link opening and closing tab parts work. The thing is that when I try to open a new tab like I always do, it doesn't work.

Same thing, I ran into BSOD on Win 11 many times yesterday so I restored my laptop. The thing is that other people have been having the same issue so I don't think its the formatting. And for other browsers like Edge, Google Chrome, Opera GX (all chromium based) I have realized that they have the same issue.

Mine too stopped working about a week back. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this. It was such a convenient feature, and I almost feel like I cant properly use the browser without that :(......

I'm gonna dogpile on to uselessly add that I too just updated to the newest version of GX last night and now find myself missing the feature.
I never realized how much I used it until today, where I find myself contently trying to open new tabs only to frustratingly either right click to open one or click on the +
I don't see why they would remove such a useful feature, I feel like this has to be a bug

Same here... before the update it was possible. After the update it feels like I am using a mouse which does not have a middle button

Hello, since today I'm not able to open a new tab clicking with the mouse wheel on the top bar anymore. Is there any option I should check? Or is it just a feature that has been disabled? Thanks!

Also having this issue; if it's a bug, please fix it. If it's intentional, please put it back!
