Extension upgrade

Got this message: "Extension upgrade will cause its permissions to increase."
Anyone know what that actually means in plain English?[moved to addons]

This means the new extension version wants to have more permissions than the previous versions. The extension should now be temporarily disabled until you accept or deny this. There should be a list of which additional permissions it wants to have. The string is indeed a bit odd.
